Earlier this year we sent £2,700 to Dr. Elizabeth Moylneux, the prediatrician at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Blantyre.

She asked us if we could help build a unit for very premiture babies using the new kangaroo care procedure. This is where very tiny babies are kept strapped to their mothers rather than placed in an incubator of which their are very few in Malawi.

The photos here show a very happy outcome of our help. Dr. Molyneux is delighted with the success of this ward and this system of caring for premature babies. The babies have fewer infections, they put on weight, have much less cross-infection and can be discharged earlier.
