Mary Matambe from Mikundi village asked The Nchima Trust to help her village dig a well. They have a population 10,000 and no access to a borehole. It would cost £2000.00 to dig a well but with the help of a large donation from the estate of the late Andrew Baring and lots of fund raising from Bradford on Avon residents where Ann Scarborough lives, enough money was raised to dig a well not only in Mikundi but in another village close by.
