Sibford School pupils and staff work closely with Nchima Trust to provide support to Ntambanyama school in Malawi. As you will see from an earlier blog they purchased a batch of calculators last year and this year they have provided support for renovation of one of the school buildings and the provision of a system put in place by the school to provide meals for girls in particular. While this may appear to be an elementary and often taken for granted initiative, studying on an empty stomach is not easy as we may know and in addition to this, if pupils go home to eat they are often then required to help at home or in the fields which becomes a distraction from studies - the initial outcome is that pupil performance has improved significantly by those who have benefited from this generous and thoughtful initiative - thanks to Sibford School.
